What I Do. And What I Don't.
I'm NOT a general contractor or licensed electrician or plumber. I'm a generalist with 40+ years of experience. There's a difference.
I take on the projects, repairs, improvements, installations, maintenance, and odd jobs that need doing around homes and ranches. Some are pretty straightforward. Others take a little ingenuity and a few more tools.
I know my way around a lot of things, but I don't pretend to know everything. If a job requires a license I don't have, skills I can't honestly claim, or a specialist better suited to the work, I'll tell you.
Here's a little of what I do.
Home & Ranch
I've been hired to do just about everything around a home.
- Drywall repair
- Window screen repair
- Building & refinishing decks
- Changing locksets
- Clearing downed trees
- Installing prehung doors
- Replacing windows (and cutting in new ones)
- Remodeling kitchens, laundry rooms, and bathrooms
- Laying vinyl and tile flooring
- Hanging curtain rods
- Repairing dishwashers
- Swapping out electrical outlets and switches
- Building livestock feeders and waterers
- And putting up more than a few sheds.
- And that's just the stuff I remember.
I'm also a cattle rancher. I know my way around a barn, hay stack, and tack room. I've built hoop houses, livestock shelters, and more. I'm good on a tractor, and I am confident with fences and gates, too. That said, I'm NOT a fencing contractor, but I've built and maintained all my own fences. I know how to pound a T-post, straighten a gate, and ride a fence line, making repairs as I go. I usually bring a chainsaw along for downed trees and whatever other wooden surprises Mother Nature has left behind.
I've managed to keep my cattle where they belong for years, with only one elk-assisted escape.
I have a love/hate relationship with elk.

Projects
Chicken coops and runs, equipment sheds, carports, firewood shelters, raised garden beds, potting benches, greenhouses, hoop houses, livestock shelters, hay feeders, workbenches, storage racks, and custom shelving. From a rough sketch on a napkin to a finished project, I enjoy figuring out how to make something useful, sturdy, and built to last.
Got an idea? Let's talk about it.
Odd Jobs
Got something that doesn't quite fit into one of the categories above? Call me.
Moving a dog kennel, trenching, building a pathway, spreading mulch, stacking firewood, or clearing a downed tree. I've done it all, and I've got the tools and trailer to do it for you.
If it's an odd job that needs doing, there's a good chance I'm your guy.
A Little of Everything
As I mentioned, I'm a generalist. If you're not sure whether you need a contractor, electrician, plumber, or a witch doctor, call me.
I'll help you figure out what needs doing, whether I'm the right guy for the job, or who you should be talking to if I'm not.
Not sure? Call Joe.
